About

Soap Gold celebrates the history of the two biggest soaps in British TV: Emmerdale and Coronation Street. Our promise is in the tagline: the soaps you grew up with — their greatest stories, told properly.

We started in the Facebook fan groups — Coronation Street News & Spoilers, the Emmerdale Fans Clubs and Emmerdale Absolute Spoilers & Gossips — where tens of thousands of fans swap memories every single day. This site is where those memories get a proper home: classic storylines retold in full, anniversaries marked on the day, the iconic characters celebrated, and the famous sets and locations explored.

How we retell the classics

Every feature is checked against the original broadcasts, published episode listings and synopses, and interviews given by cast and producers at the time. Where memories differ or a detail cannot be verified, we say so — and we never invent storylines, quotes or dates. Read more in our Editorial Policy.

Unofficial and proud of it
